Ogilvy has made two new global appointments: Jag Dhanji is taking on the role of chief people officer, while Stacey Ryan-Cornelius is leaving fellow WPP agency Geometry to become the network’s chief financial officer.
Dhanji takes over from Brian Fetherstonhaugh and will both report to Ogilvy’s CEO Andy Main and WPP’s chief people officer Jacqui Canney. Ogilvy did not share why Fetherstonhaugh is leaving.
She joined Ogilvy three years ago as chief talent officer for its EMEA region. Prior to joining, she held HR roles at companies including Costa Coffee, Vodafone and Diageo.
“Jag’s experience working across fast-moving organizations and industries, and the passion she has shown for building a culture at Ogilvy that empowers people to do their best work, will be an amazing asset to our team,” Main, who joined Ogilvy earlier this year, said.
“We are living through a unique moment where we are completely rethinking the way we live and work, which makes this opportunity so invigorating,” noted Dhanji. “Ogilvy has some of the best creative and strategic talent in the world and I’m excited to work with my colleagues across the globe to ensure that Ogilvy remains a ‘company of giants’ with a culture that is innovative, inclusive, and fun.”
Ryan-Cornelius succeeds Steve Goldstein, who is retiring from the business and will stay on for a transition period through early 2021.
She previously served as global chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Geometry, which recently merged with VMLY&R. Ryan-Cornelius held a number of roles at Ogilvy earlier in her career.
“Stacey is not only a seasoned leader with vast experience and creative commercial acumen, but also a leader experienced in business transformation and growth. We’re thrilled to have her back at Ogilvy as we focus on being the best platform and partner for growth, delivering speed to value for our clients with world-class creative thinking,” Main said.
Last month, Ogilvy hired Devika Bulchandani as its North America CEO and global chairwoman of advertising. Bulchandani previously served as McCann’s North America president.
