Activision Blizzard vice president of franchise communication and social Beverly Jackson will join Twitter Jan. 4 as vp, global brand and consumer marketing.

Jackson will report directly to chief marketing officer and head of people Leslie Berland and lead the social network’s brand, consumer product marketing, global consumer marketing and social teams.

While at Activision Blizzard, she worked on iconic gaming titles including Call of Duty, Crash Bandicoot and Tony Hawk Pro Skater, driving awareness and engagement among their fan bases.

Prior to that, she led social media and content strategy at MGM Resorts International, where her team created campaigns for and entered into partnerships with brands including esports programming entities, the National Basketball Association Summer League, the National Football League, the National Hockey League and the Women’s National Basketball Association.

Jackson also held similar leadership roles at Yahoo and The Grammy Awards.

Berland said in a statement, “Beverly is a force, and she’s joining us at the perfect time. She’s a storyteller, a creative, a collaborator and she gets Twitter inside and out. Beverly’s energy and vision will take our work to the next level, and we couldn’t be more excited to get started.”

Jackson added, “Twitter is real, unfiltered, raw, and I’ve seen the incredible work the teams here have done to bring that energy to its campaigns and real-world activations. I’m honored to now have the opportunity to be a part of that work and help shape how one of the most culturally significant brands of our time shows up in the world.”
